Your Worthiness Factor
In June 2017, I knew I had to move from my apartment. I didn't know where I was going, but I started packing. One day, I magically happened upon an apartment in one of the most beautiful houses in Chapel Hill. On a lake.
With a lakefront view.
It was the perfect size for me with an office space overlooking the lush garden and the serene lake.
Secluded, peaceful, beautiful.
It was available, and I wanted it.
The only problem was I didn't think I "deserved" it. It was too nice for me. Too big a step up from the boxy apartment I had been living in.
I screwed up my courage and applied for the apartment on a Friday. Over the weekend, I sweated it out, hoping the owners would approve my application.
And I thought about worthiness. And my lack of it.
A friend told me to ask the land and the house to accept me. So I spoke to the spirit of the place and asked it to accept and welcome me there. I felt calmer and more hopeful.
By Monday the apartment was mine. I moved in on August 9, 2017. And I have lived in this magical place ever since.
Over time, the beauty and specialness of this place has become "normal". I continue to enjoy being here, but I don't have to pinch myself to know that it is real. It is now my experience.
Being here has raised my Worthiness Factor and what I expect is possible for me. How does your Worthiness Factor affect how you experience life?
IN EVERY WAY!!!
what you have,
what you earn,
the love you savor,
the health you enjoy, and
the appreciation you have for yourself
Let's take money for example because we all want more money, right?
To begin with, money isn't a thing. It's not physical. It's a representation of value.
At this point we all agree that a dollar is worth a certain amount. We agree that gold and silver are worth a certain amount. Some people agree that cryptocurrency is worth a certain amount (and others wonder why).
Using these currencies can afford us a certain amount of food, a certain kind of shelter and clothing, and, for some, a certain amount of respect and security.
And that's where worthiness comes in.
We've agreed that women's work is not as valuable as that of men so women are paid less - to be mothers (wait, can mothers get paid?!?), teachers, and workers in just about every field in our Western culture.
And what does that tell us about our worth as women?
We don't measure up.
We're not as valuable.
What we do is not worth being paid for adequately and appreciated.
And you and I know that is a LIE!
Who you are and what you do matters. It matters to you, to your family, your community, and ultimately the Universe.
Being you inherently means you have value.
But the stories you've been told and the programming you've received tell you otherwise.
How does a low Worthiness Factor play out?
Settling for relationships that are less than fulfilling
Continuing to do work that is tedious and draining
Doing for others when they can do for themselves and depleting your own life force
Questioning yourself about your decisions, actions, and value
Holding yourself back from going for something bigger and better for yourself
Earning income that is below what your work is worth
Struggling to find clients and satisfying work
Putting yourself in a subordinate position when you are capable of more
These stories of unworthiness are in need of revision - IMMEDIATELY!
Living a lie is no fun and not necessary. You are capable and deserving of more.
I would like to help you do just that - rewrite your story about your worth.
Boosting your Worthiness Factor is the underlying theme of our upcoming workshop - Shift Your Story: Support Your Intentions - on Saturday, October 15th in Pittsboro, NC.
Whitney Greer and I will be guiding you and a few other like-minded participants through a day of
discovering the stories you tell yourself,
how these stories affect your life and experience now, and
what to do specifically to change them so that they support rather than limit you.
Whitney has guided women, executives, and companies to find their authentic stories and craft them for purposeful communication.
I have over 15 years of helping women with small businesses recognize their unique abilities and share them with the world for greater abundance, enjoyment, and transformation.
Together we have created a day designed to
take you into your story,
release and rewrite the stories that limit you, and
embody the story you want to tell so that your life looks the way you envision it.
Join us live and in-person on Saturday, October 15th at 123 Work in Progress Art & Story Studios in Pittsboro, NC. For more information and to REGISTER go here
