From Fear to Growth
Today we're going to talk about moving from Fear to Growth.
I was just on a call with Suzanne Lynch, whom you can find at suzannelynchwellness.com. Suzanne shared this chart from a mental health center.
The question is who do you want to be during COVID-19 and beyond?
Watch the video or read the article to locate yourself in one of three zones.
The Fear Zone
I started in the Fear Zone and perhaps you did too.
The tendencies here are
To grab food, toilet paper, and medications that you don't need
To spread emotions related to fear and anger
To complain frequently
To forward all the messages COVID-19 you have received
[There is a lot of fear going around. I have really tried to monitor my own fear and just put out what I think would be helpful to people on social media and when I talk to people.]
The Learning Zone
Eventually, you may move into the Learning Zone as things stabilize and settle down. Here are the tendencies in the Learning Zone:
You start to give up what you cannot control
You stop compulsively consuming what hurts you from food to news
You identify your emotions, asking
How am I right now?
Am I frightened?
Am I steady?
Am I feeling pretty good?
You become aware of the situation and think and feel guided on how to act.
[I’m a really big proponent of using your intuition. When you can get calm your intuition can tell you what to do in a very effective way.]
You evaluate information before spreading something false.
[I think that's really key. I'm starting to use snopes.com a lot more and finding out stuff that comes across on social media may not be true. Surprise – not!]
You recognize that we are all trying to do our best
The Growth Zone
As you move into the Growth Zone the tendencies are to say
You think of others and see how to help them
I think that's really important to take care of yourself first. We are all exhausted by this pandemic. To further tire and stress yourself is not going to help.
You make your talents available to those who need them
If you're able to do that, that's great. I really think it's not a time to feel guilty if you can't. I just talked to some friends who would love to work at a food bank. They would really love to do that, but they can't because of their age. So, if you can't, you can't. Do not put yourself in danger.
You live in the present and focus on the future
That's a really big one. If you're meditating more if you're doing more yoga and more mindfulness practices, this is going to be really a great growth area for you also being in your body. Not only being in your mind but also bringing your attention down into your body will help you be present.
You are empathetic with yourself and with others
Again, putting yourself first is not something we've really been taught or required to do, especially as women. But at this time, it is essential because if you're not able to function or if you get sick, others will have to take care of you. But if you can stay strong, sturdy, and steady that means less stress on yourself and your family.
Keep a positive emotional state and spread hope.
Maybe you can't be happy. Maybe you can just be neutral. Neutral is good. Fear is not your friend. Neutral or moving into happiness is good.
It really is okay for you to be happy in this environment. Being in fear, worry, doubt, and stress does not do not help your own immune system and it certainly doesn't help anyone else. If your emotions are at a higher level, you can help other people get to that level too.
I've heard it said you cannot get sick enough to make another person well and you cannot get unhappy enough to make another person happy. So being in your own happy state or neutral state where you feel strong and steady will help others.
You look for a way to adapt to new changes.
You practice quietude, patience, relationships, and creativity.
Perhaps you are meditating and listening to guided imagery, doing breathing practices and yoga. These are all things I've turned to even more intensely than I have ever done before. I'm certainly reaching out to people, family, and friends that I've not reached out to before. In fact, I've had dance parties on zoom for kids and adults too.
I know some people are writing more. Some people are painting or drawing more, learning to play instruments, or learning a language.
What are you doing for creativity?
How are you growing your creativity?
It really is okay to take your attention off of the world and the news and put it on yourself and your own creativity.
As I've said before, and I will keep saying this is an awesome opportunity to grow. It's difficult. It's challenging. It's tragic. It's heartbreaking, Do not let this crisis, which is full of opportunity, keep you frozen and afraid. Do what you can to keep growing.
Dowsing Session
I'd like to do a little dowsing for you to move a little energy.
I’m using a dowsing rod. I'm going to circle it counterclockwise.
While I do that, I'm going to ask to clear anything that stands in the way of your moving for fear to learning and learning to grow in your own life, in your own identity.
Anything that's preventing you from doing that we're just going to ask that that be cleared and deleted across all time-space dimensions and realities. Good, bad, right, wrong, POD, POC, all 9s, shorts, boys, and beyonds. That is the Clearing Statement form Access Consciousness. You can find more information at accessconsciousness.com and theclearingstatement.com.
We're asking that resistance to change be deleted. Humans don't really like to change all that much. We like things the same. We like novelty, but maybe not change. So anywhere where you're willing to give up the resistance to change, we're asking that that'd be released from you.
Okay and now on this side, I'm going to go clockwise, and that's going to enhance. We’re enhancing your ability to learn, enhancing your ability to grow, enhancing your ability to shift your identity to something that serves you even better today and in the days ahead.
Now we're going to invite in the Spirit of Growth and Adaptability. As I've said before, humans are incredibly adaptable.
Think of all the regions in the world that human beings live. They live in the deserts of Africa and the ice flows in the North Pole. It's amazing how adaptable we are. The spirit of growth and adaptation will help us as we invite it in. And we give thanks for all the invisible assistance that is here for us. We give thanks that we know that we can ask for that assistance.
Thank you for joining me today.
See you next time. And remember, you can begin to live in your Learning and Growth Zones.
P.S. Please let me know where you locate yourself in the three zones described here. And you may be in more than one at the same time. I’d love to hear from you!
