Change Your Stories
today I want to talk to you about how to change your limiting stories about abundance and magic.

First of all, you have to listen to what you're telling yourself. You have to listen to how you're limiting yourself. And that can be a little tricky.
It is very helpful to talk to someone else because they can catch when you say something like, “Oh, well I can't do that because … “
Your friend or your coach or your therapist will likely say, “Really, is that true?” because she heard you limiting yourself with your words.
We all have stories that are not founded in truth. They are based on our perceptions and past programming, but they're not based on reality.
So first, you have to listen to the stories you're telling yourself, and you can do that by talking or writing out what something important like money means to you or how easy money is to come to you or how much money you deserve.
Listen to what you're telling yourself.
If you find yourself limiting yourself, then you flip what you are saying to the opposite.
For instance, when I was telling myself, “I don't deserve to live in a beautiful apartment on a lake,” I flipped that to say, “I deserve to live in a beautiful apartment, I am worthy of the best that life has to offer, I am worthy of receiving abundance.”
Those are flips to the opposite of the limitations. Then begin affirming those the flips by repeating them to yourself.
Then decide you're going to believe a new story. That decision is cutting away the old story and putting you into a new one. You don't have to know how the story is going to happen or figure it out at this point.
You don't have to know what you have to do ten steps down the road. You do need to listen for inspiration and take the next step, just the next step. Not climb the whole staircase, but the next step.
To do this for yourself, here are the steps to take:
talk out or write down the negative or limiting beliefs you have
about money,
about abundance,
about magic,
about yourself,
flip the limiting statements,
affirm the new statements,
decide that you are going to believe the new story (you may have to do this more than once because the old story might try to creep back in), and
act on any inspiration.
Another example from my life happened three years ago because I wasn't having much fun.
I am a worker bee. In the Human Design system, I'm a Generator which means I love to work. But I was wearing myself out and into the ground.
I started doing this whole process, looking at how I was limiting myself. I was telling myself, “I have to work to have value.”
I flipped that statement, started affirming the new story I wanted to believe, and I decided that I would have more fun.
On my digital calendar, I put a category for Fun and Vitality because I wasn't feeling very vital in addition to not having much fun. Well, it's gotten so much easier to schedule in time with friends and to explore and to rest. I no longer think I have to work all the time to be valuable, to be worthy, and worthwhile.
So if you would like to take up this practice, write out your negative or limiting beliefs about your worthiness, your ability to attract, your ability to have magic and abundance in your life or whatever you choose.
Write the limiters out, flip them, affirm them, and decide to cut the cords to those past stories. Then act as you are inspired.
